GUATEMALA CITY — A choose in Guatemala issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for Gustavo Meoño, a former leftist guerrilla chief and transparency activist, in reference to a 1980 bomb assault.
The bombing in Guatemala Metropolis’s predominant plaza killed a number of individuals and was blamed on the rebels of the Guerrilla Military of the Poor. The assault occurred in the course of the nation’s 1960-1996 civil struggle between the military and leftist rebels wherein over 200,000 individuals died, most by the hands of the army.
