QUITO, Ecuador — No less than 16 folks had been killed and 16 others injured when a large landslide buried dozens of houses in an Andean group in central Ecuador, the nation’s emergency response company reported Monday.
Ecuador’s Danger Administration Secretariat mentioned seven folks remained lacking hours after the landslide Sunday in Alausí, about 137 miles (220 kilometers) south of the capital, Quito.
